Central Dauphin and State College are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Rams will welcome the Little Lions at 7:06 p.m. on Friday.
Things were looking good for Central Dauphin after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 24-15 to Cumberland Valley. The Rams have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, while State College put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Chambersburg. The Little Lions really took it to the Trojans for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-0 victory. The matchup marked the Little Lions' most dominant win of the season so far.
A big part of State College's victory came down to the chemistry between Connor Kulka and his top target Hank Lustig. Kulka threw for 276 yards and four TDs while Lustig picked up 123 receiving yards and three scores. Another player making a difference was Anderson Aj Fry, who picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown.
State College didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Rowan Walker, Aj Fry, and Michael Yourey picked up one apiece. State College got some further help from Trayce Brennan: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
The win made it two in a row for State College and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Central Dauphin, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Central Dauphin has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 155.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like State College struggles in that department as they've been averaging 215.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
