Volleyball Game Preview: Mathews Blue Devils vs. King William Cavaliers + How To Watch

Mathews is 0-10 against King William since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will host the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m.

Mathews is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 18th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to West Point.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-12.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for King William, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over King & Queen Central on Tuesday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant King William was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-9, 25-9.

King William's win came from a few key players Mathews will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Noel Sluder, who had five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

King William was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.

Mathews now has a losing record of 7-8. As for King William, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
