Basketball Game Preview: Brandon Valley Lynx vs. Harrisburg Tigers

Brandon Valley is 8-2 against Harrisburg since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Brandon Valley Lynx will take on the Harrisburg Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Brandon Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Brandon Valley against Lincoln as the team secured a 66-28 victory. The Lynx have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Alyvia Padgett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10-for-14 to rack up 25 points and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Geiver, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Brandon Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Harrisburg took a blow against O'Gorman on Tuesday, falling 57-24. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Knights are ranked third).

Brandon Valley pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Harrisburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Brandon Valley strolled past Harrisburg when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a score of 51-36. Does Brandon Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harrisburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
