Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage lost against Loudoun Valley on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pride took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Audrey Ellison and Brooke Gallagher did some serious damage despite the final result: Ellison went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Gallagher went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Gallagher has snagged this season.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Loudoun Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will square off against Tuscarora at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loudoun Valley, they will challenge Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Captains will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
