Baseball Recap: Clearwater Central Catholic Sets Scoring Season-High Against East Lake

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearwater Central Catholic). They skirted past the East Lake Eagles 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Marauders as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Clearwater Central Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Brkljacic, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Brkljacic a new career-high. Austin Snyder also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-10. As for East Lake, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Coming up, Clearwater Central Catholic will host Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Clearwater Central Catholic has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for East Lake, they will take on Cypress Creek in a tournament on Monday. Cypress Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so East Lake's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
