Football Recap: Richards Warriors vs. Julian Jaguars
Richards was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against the Julian Jaguars as they made off with a 38-14 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their 12-point performance the game before.
Ryan Pack-Boykin was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 171 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 91 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Richards' defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Juelz Baker and Juelez Nowells, who racked up four sacks between them. Baker is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Richards got some further help from Jayvon Larry: he picked up a sack, made five total tackles, and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Richards' record is now 2-0. As for Julian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richards will host Collins Academy/Manley at 1:00 p.m. on the 13th. The contest will give Richards their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Julian, they will look to defend their home field on the 13th against Back of the Yards College Prep at 9:45 a.m.
