Recap: Phillipsburg Panthers vs. Russell Broncos
There's no place like home for the Phillipsburg Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road back in December of 2023. They walked away with a 40-28 victory over Russell on Friday. The win was just what Phillipsburg needed coming off of a 58-29 defeat in their prior game.
Phillipsburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Seems out in front who scored four points along with 12 rebounds. Seems also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Rad Rodriguez, who scored 13 points.
Phillipsburg pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Russell, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Phillipsburg will head out on the road to face off against Trego at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Russell, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Smith Center at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Smith Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
