Recap: Manor New Tech vs. Taylor Ducks
After flying high against the Giddings Buffaloes last Tuesday, Manor New Tech came back down to earth. Manor New Tech fell to Taylor 64-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Taylor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Treos Richardson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Richardson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. TJ Whybrew was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with three steals.
Manor New Tech's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 12-14. As for Taylor, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manor New Tech will challenge Smithville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithville has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Taylor, they will head out on the road to square off against La Grange at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as La Grange comes in on 11 and Taylor on three.
