The Zionsville Eagles will challenge the Center Grove Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Zionsville 2.9, Center Grove 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Zionsville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Westfield, who was ranked 24th at the time (Zionsville was ranked second). The Eagles never let the Shamrocks get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Leah Helton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Sylvia Mudis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Center Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Carmel on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Sarah Riley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sydney Herrmann, who fired off two home runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Taylor Barrett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Center Grove hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carmel struck out 13 times.
Zionsville pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Center Grove, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Both Zionsville and Center Grove just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Center Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Zionsville skirted past Center Grove 8-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
