Basketball Recap: Sunray Comes Up Short

Sunray lost against West Texas back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sunray Bobcats came up short against the West Texas Comanches, falling 51-28. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1000th, while the Comanches are ranked 141st).

Sunray has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for West Texas, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Sunray will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sanford-Fritch at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. West Texas and Borger will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. West Texas is facing Borger at the right time seeing as Borger is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
