Baseball Recap: Lamar Vikings vs. Trinity Trojans

Lamar lost against Trinity back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lamar Vikings came up short against the Trinity Trojans, falling 25-5.

Colton Quesada put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he also gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ransom Burns and Connor Buechele did some serious damage despite the final result: Burns scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Buechele got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI. Colton McKay was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Lamar now has a losing record at 0-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will welcome Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trinity, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aledo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
