Basketball Recap: Circle Takes Down Pratt in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Circle had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They secured a 45-40 W over the Pratt Greenbacks. The win was some much needed relief for the Thunderbirds as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Circle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Johnson has become a key player for Circle: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least 15 points, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brookelyn Patty, who shot 56% from the field en route to 10 points and six rebounds.

Circle's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Pratt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9-1 record this season.

Circle has already played their next match, a 35-30 defeat against Buhler on the 8th. Pratt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
