Baseball Recap: Croatan Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Person, Croatan was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Eastern Randolph Wildcats.

Harrison Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Croatan is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Augie Morris was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was James Garman, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Croatan's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Eastern Randolph, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Croatan will square off against Swansboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern Randolph, they will take on North Moore at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
