Baseball Recap: Barrington Triumphs

While Barrington's victory against Schaumburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Fillies/Broncos skirted past the Saxons 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Fillies/Broncos in their matchups with the Saxons: they've now won three in a row.

Jack Postma tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Tommy Abbatemarco was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Barrington's record now sits at 9-3-1. As for Schaumburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barrington will face off against Elk Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Grenadiers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Schaumburg, they will challenge Buffalo Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
