Basketball Recap: Forest Hills Starts Season with Win Against Albemarle + How To Watch

Forest Hills had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Albemarle Bulldogs 53-21. The Yellow Jackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Forest Hills was led to victory by Leyah Melton and Nyjaya Wingo. Melton dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 steals, while Wingo dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 steals. Those 13 steals gave Wingo a new career-high. Layla Rushing was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight steals and seven boards.

Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Forest Hills has already played their next contest, a 71-44 loss against Porter Ridge on the 19th. As for Albemarle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-21 victory against Anson on the 21st.
