Volleyball Recap: Badin Comes Up Short

Badin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Summit Country Day Silver Knights. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Silver Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2016.

While Badin was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Summit Country Day's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-14, 26-24.

Badin's offense was headlined by Emily O'Brien and Brooklyn Johnson, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Elly Raines and her 12 assists. O'Brien was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Leading Summit Country Day to victory were Gabi McCauley and Rylee Jewell. McCauley had ten digs and four aces, while Jewell had 11 digs and nine assists. Jewell has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Badin's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Summit Country Day, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

Badin has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Sycamore on the 13th. As for Summit Country Day, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Clark Montessori on the 15th.
