Baseball Recap: Snook Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Snook faced off against Milano on Friday. The Bluejays lost 17-2 to the Eagles. The Bluejays have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Snook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Withem, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Snook's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Milano, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Snook is set to challenge their familiar foe Round Top-Carmine at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Milano will square off against rival Burton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 4, the Panthers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
