Basketball Recap: Isaac Timmons' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forest over Lake Howell

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Forest couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 42-31 to the Lake Howell Silverhawks on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 40-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2021.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Timmons, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. Timmons has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times he's played. Trey Chisolm was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Leading Lake Howell to victory were Isaac Buckley and Janiel De Los Santos. Buckley went 8-for-17 en route to 19 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while De Los Santos earned 12 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Fritz, who put up four points.

Forest's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Lake Howell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Howell, they have already played their next contest, a 58-40 defeat against Tocoi Creek on the 20th.
