Baseball Recap: Kent School Lions vs. Kingswood Oxford Wyverns
Kent School extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 8-0 to the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wyverns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
As for Kingswood Oxford, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
For Kingswood Oxford's part, Will Parkhouse was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Parkhouse was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Boden Swanson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. John Sokale was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
