Baseball Recap: Pinole Valley Comes Up Short

Pinole Valley's last matchup with Campolindo could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Pinole Valley Spartans lost 9-2 to the Campolindo Cougars. The Spartans have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Pinole Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charles Vargas, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Another was Jaylen Smalls, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Pinole Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Campolindo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Pinole Valley is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Encinal at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Campolindo, they will venture away from home to take on Vintage at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
