Softball Game Preview: Coleman Comets vs. Byron Eagles

The Coleman Comets are taking a road trip to square off against the Byron Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Coleman lost 10-2 to St. Charles on Monday. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Byron had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Mt. Morris on Monday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Lilly Quimby was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Wasilenski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coleman's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Byron, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
