Basketball Recap: East Alton-Wood River Takes a Loss

East Alton-Wood River lost against Breese Central back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The East Alton-Wood River Oilers took a blow against the Breese Central Cougars, falling 90-26. While losing is never fun, the Oilers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Cougars are ranked 35th).

This is the second loss in a row for East Alton-Wood River and nudges their season record down to 3-27. As for Breese Central, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-5.

East Alton-Wood River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-44 victory against Dupo on the 20th. As for Breese Central, they have also already played their next game, a 52-19 win against Marquette Catholic on the 21st.
