Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Find Success

While Lincoln's victory against Columbia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Tigers on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Lincoln had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-27, 25-15, 25-11, 15-11.

Kinsley Platt paced Lincoln's offense, picking up ten kills. Platt got some help from Savannah Weiss and her 40 assists. Platt also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Londyn Dickey, each putting up five.

Lincoln's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-7. As for Columbia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Lincoln has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Leon on the 23rd. As for Columbia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Valdosta on the 24th.
