Baseball Recap: Morgan City's Win Ends 12-Game Losing Streak at Home

Morgan City got themselves on the board against East St. John on Thursday, but East St. John never followed suit. They put the hurt on the East St. John Wildcats with a sharp 6-0 win. That looming 6-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

The result came thanks to Christopher Tran's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Morgan City let Jaydon Ward and Thomas Mancuso run wild. Ward went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI, while Mancuso scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Those two hits gave Ward a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keagan Hoyt, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Morgan City's victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-14. As for East St. John, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan City will venture away from home to take on Riverside Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East St. John, they are taking a road trip to square off against South Plaquemines at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
