Basketball Recap: East Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

East entered their tilt with Laramie on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They beat the Laramie Plainsmen by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 63-30. Given the Thunderbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Plainsmen are ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Laramie's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stacy Ruggles, who posted seven points.

East pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Laramie, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East has already played their next contest (against Sheridan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Laramie will look to defend their home court on February 8th against Thunder Basin at 12:00 p.m.
