Softball Recap: Logan County Takes a Loss

Logan County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rossview Hawks. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

Addison Cartas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Brenley Adler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Logan County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Rossview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Logan County will head out on the road to take on Todd County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Logan County's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Rossview, they will welcome Springfield at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
