The Scarborough Red Storm are taking a road trip to face off against the Massabesic Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Massabesic will be up against a hot Scarborough squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 15. The Red Storm skirted past Bonny Eagle 4-2.
Nate Masters looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Fallona, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cam Wellman, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.
Massabesic came out on top against Windham on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fourth inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-2 victory. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Noah Bryan made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Henry Marcotte was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Logan Hajdysz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Scarborough pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Massabesic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.
Scarborough skirted past Massabesic 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Storm since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
