Softball Recap: Western Harnett Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Western Harnett had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Corinth Holders Pirates on Tuesday, falling 14-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Pirates since April 5, 2016.

Grace Bancroft was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Western Harnett wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-13 defeat against North Moore on the 28th. As for Corinth Holders, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-6 victory against South Johnston on the 28th.
