League recap: Ouachita Christian tops Delhi Charter to extend winning streak

Ouachita Christian extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 2 this week by beating Delhi Charter, 42-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Ouachita Christian took down the Gators 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Braden Bristo threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 18 yards and caught two passes for 21 yards in the win.

Steven Fitzhugh's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ahkeem Henderson chipped in 55 yards. David Joe Branch helped Ouachita Christian's passing attack out by catching four balls for 59 yards.

Colby Webb was the best wideout in the league this week as the Eagles bested Delhi Charter. Webb tallied five receptions for 92 yards.

Ouachita Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Quin Graves has thrown for 602 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Webb has 20 catches for 328 yards. Tanner Pennebaker leads the league in rushing with 219 yards.

A big matchup in 1A District 2 this week will be when St. Frederick takes on Ouachita Christian. At the moment, the Warriors are in third, while the Eagles are in first.

There should be lots of points scored when St. Frederick and Ouachita Christian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Chad Swanberg's team comes in having scored 91 this season, while the Eagles have scored 197. The Warriors scored 42 points last week as they defeated Tensas.

Cedar Creek led the league in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on Delhi.
