Flag Football Recap: St. Francis Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Francis can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 34-33 to the Antelope Titans. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Troubadours, who until this game were averaging 11.78 points allowed.

St. Francis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Piper Bates, Colleen Medina, and Tayli Paeu-Lindgren picked up one apiece. Bates got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Francis has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-8 record this season. As for Antelope, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-6 record this season.

St. Francis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Antelope, they will take on Vista del Lago at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed nine points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
