Softball Recap: Wickliffe Blue Devils vs. Lutheran West Longhorns
While Wickliffe put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Lutheran West. Wickliffe was the clear victor by a 27-0 margin over Lutheran West. The Blue Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.
Leigha Blazetic made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Blazetic was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Wickliffe got a massive performance out of Audrey Musgrave, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Maddie Kita, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Wickliffe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .837. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lutheran West only posted an OBP of .000.
