            Softball Recap: Citrus Hurricanes vs. Tavares Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            If Citrus was feeling good  fresh off their  10-4 takedown of Lecanto last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Citrus Hurricanes fell just short of the Tavares Bulldogs by a score of  7-6 on Thursday. The Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won  7-6.
 Paisley Williamson put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and four unearned) runs off   five  hits. Williamson was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Makaila Anderson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Makayla Hetman, who  went 1-for-4 with three  stolen bases.
 Even though they lost, Citrus  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tavares only managed five  hits.
Citrus dropped their record down to 6-5 with the  loss, which was their third straight  at home. As for Tavares, the  victory was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
 Coming up, Citrus will square off against Land O' Lakes at 1:00  p.m.  on March 28th. As for Tavares, they will take on Leesburg at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Tavares 4, Leesburg 4.1) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
