Basketball Game Preview: Harnett Central Trojans vs. Triton Hawks

Harnett Central hasn't had much luck against Triton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Harnett Central Trojans will host the Triton Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Harnett Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season.

Harnett Central is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Pine Forest on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Harnett Central lost 69-47 to Pine Forest. Harnett Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Despite their defeat, Harnett Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rylan Beasley, who posted nine points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Temple, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Triton over Overhills in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Everything went Triton's way against Overhills as Triton made off with a 75-50 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Ro'Mello Pegues and Ja?Von Motta. Pegues had a great game and went 10 of 13 on his way to 29 points and five rebounds. Meanwhile, Motta did his best for the losing side, putting up 16 points.

Harnett Central's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Triton, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
