Basketball Recap: Nash Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Nash Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Northern Nash, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Knights by a score of 65-62 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Knights are ranked 63rd).

Despite the loss, Nash Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zaccai Allen shot 80% from the field en route to 23 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Markell Jasper, who posted 19 points and five boards.

Northern Nash found their leader in freshman Quantay James, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. Christian Barnes was another key player, putting up ten points and eight assists.

Nash Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Northern Nash, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Nash Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-32 loss against SouthWest Edgecombe on the 12th. As for Northern Nash, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-54 win against Eastern Wayne on the 13th.
