Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 37th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Enterprise Yellowjackets and fell 51-17. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-5.

Dylan Thornton was Salem's leading scorer, having posted five points. Dominic Truxillo held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Enterprise, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Salem Wildcats face off against the Lumberton Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem is facing Lumberton at the right time seeing as Lumberton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Enterprise, they will take on Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Enterprise comes in on five and Sacred Heart on four.
