Football Recap: Strong Performance on D from Camren Smith and Josiah Wilcox Leads Plainfield East over Joliet West

Joliet West came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Plainfield East, but David Croom wouldn't allow it. The Bengals were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over the Tigers on Friday with plenty of help from Croom, who rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Plainfield East is undefeated when Croom posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

Plainfield East didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Camren Smith and Josiah Wilcox. Plainfield East got some further help from Camden Mccloskey: he forced one fumble, made 11 total tackles (0.5 for loss), and defended two passes.

Plainfield East moved to 4-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Joliet West, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5.

Plainfield East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 30-13 victory against Romeoville on the 17th. As for Joliet West, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-7 win against Plainfield Central on the 17th.
