Football Recap: Gwinn Comes Up Short

Gwinn played against L'Anse on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Gwinn is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one points. As for L'Anse, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gwinn will welcome Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Modeltowners will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.63 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for L'Anse, they will host Calumet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Copper Kings' defense has only allowed 8.6 points per game this season, so the Purple Hornets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
