The Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Martin County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dr. Joaquin Garcia is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
While Dr. Joaquin Garcia's victory against Boca Raton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Dr. Joaquin Garcia won by a run and slipped past Boca Raton 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since February 18th.
Dominic Luchina looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Dr. Joaquin Garcia let Eric Flores and Chase Webster run wild. Flores went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Webster scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Webster a new career-high. Joaquin Urrutia was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Dr. Joaquin Garcia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Martin County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Palm Beach Central.
Martin County also got a great performance from Michael Sanchez as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Sanchez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Martin County is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.
At the plate, Zane Moody was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
Martin County's record now sits at 7-4. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
