Basketball Game Preview: Garner Longhorns vs. Wichita Christian Stars

The Garner Longhorns will take on the Wichita Christian Stars in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Garner took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Gold-Burg with a sharp 66-41 win. While the Longhorns didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Dawson Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 27 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Brayden Martinez, who posted nine points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Wichita Christian came up short against Abilene Christian on Monday and fell 78-68.

Garner is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Wichita Christian, they now have a losing record at 0-1.
