League recap: Barnes overpowering for Bradford in past week

4A District 5 league recap: 3/13/13

Wyatt Barnes was the best pitcher in 4A District 5 this week, leading Bradford. Over the past week, he had one win and 13 Ks.

Top honors in the league this week go to Santa Fe, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. The Raiders beat North Marion 4-2.

Williston boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The Tornadoes, the league's stolen base leader this season with 39, added to their lead in that category with 25 more steals over the past week.

Five batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Austin Langworthy, who hit .500 this week (3-for-6).

Robby Howell and Kevin Dupree hit home runs this week.



Jackson Reddish drove in six runners on Wednesday in Bradford's 19-4 victory over Hawthorne. He went 5-for-6 and scored two runs.

Trent Johnson threw a shutout as he led the Red Devils to victory over Vanguard, 7-0, on Friday. He struck out one, allowing three hits.
