Softball Game Preview: Dover Green Wave vs. Exeter Blue Hawks

Dover is 0-6 against Exeter since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Green Wave will venture away from home to square off against the Blue Hawks at 2:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Dover is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goffstown.

Elizabeth Cook was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Exeter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Bishop Guertin. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Blue Hawks have suffered against the Cardinals since April 18, 2016.

Exeter's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Dover, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Dover might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Exeter in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
