Trinity hasn't had much luck against East Nicolaus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will head out to square off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Trinity is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
On Friday, Trinity was able to grind out a solid victory over Modoc, taking the game 20-13.

Trinity had a senior duo take command as Miller Brown picked up 183 receiving yards and a pair of scores and Carver Dresselhaus threw for 215 yards and two TDs on only 19 passes. Dresselhaus' passing game has become a key predictor of the Wolves' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-5 otherwise.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for East Nicolaus on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Colusa out of the water with a 54-13 final score. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 24 points or more this season.
East Nicolaus' win came from a few key players Trinity will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braden Appelt, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jaydan Marshall was in the mix too, providing East Nicolaus with two TDs.
East Nicolaus was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 352 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
East Nicolaus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cage Lauppe, Adan Martinez, and Jackson Marmie picked up one apiece. Marmie is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last four games he's played. Martinez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win got Trinity back to even at 5-5. As for East Nicolaus, the victory also got them back to even at 5-5.
Trinity was taken down by East Nicolaus 58-12 in their previous meeting back in October of 2019. Thankfully for the Wolves, Gavin Mcauliff (who threw for 190 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 48 yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time.
