New Trier came tearing into Saturday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies with a sharp 60-35 win. The Trevians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Genevieve Simkowski, who posted seven points and three steals. What's more, Simkowski also posted a 30% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Chesney, who earned five points and three steals.

New Trier pushed their record up to 14-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points over those games. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-25.

New Trier has already played their next match, a 45-37 defeat against Libertyville on the 5th. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-16 loss against Hinsdale Central on the 4th.
