Basketball Recap: DuVal Tigers vs. Laurel Spartans

DuVal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 77-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurel Spartans. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laurel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amadou Kaloga, who went 7 for 15 en route to 20 points and three steals. Kaloga's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jermaine Taylor, who posted 21 points and six boards.

DuVal's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Laurel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
