Baseball Recap: Pennington's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Pennington won the last time they faced Holly Pond and things went their way on Monday too. The Pennington Tigers came out on top against the Holly Pond Broncos by a score of 8-4.

Noah McClendon and Colton Walston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McClendon struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Walston tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February. At the plate, McClendon went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Walston went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Connor Timmerman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Josiah Coover, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Pennington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pennington's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6. As for Holly Pond, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Pennington will have a chance to go back-to-back against Holly Pond: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
