Westfield and Pine Valley Central are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Westfield fell victim to Frewsburg and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Bears.

Westfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Bratton, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Pine Valley Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Cassadaga Valley, falling 16-4.

Camryn Slade put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Slade was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

In other batting news, Trent Ivett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

Westfield beat Pine Valley Central 8-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
