Basketball Recap: Hackleburg Comes Up Short

Hackleburg has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shoals Christian Flame. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flame earlier this season, when they won 72-64.

Sarah Davis (2025) continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shoals Christian, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards. Davis (2025)'s evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aariyah Ricks, who went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points.

Hackleburg's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Shoals Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hackleburg Panthers take on the Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions at 1:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Shoals Christian, they will face off against Cherokee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
