Volleyball Recap: Saint Viator Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Saint Viator can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Maine East Blue Demons on Saturday. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Blue Demons when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Saint Viator's offense was headlined by Cruz Ruiz Mullen and Kevin Doherty, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Mat Masiclat and his 16 assists. Tommy Cholewa controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Saint Viator and nudges their season record down to 9-24. As for Maine East, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Saint Viator does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maine East, they will challenge Prospect at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
