Baseball Recap: Weston Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Weston is still undefeated this season after their game against Westford Academy on Monday, but Westford Academy came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Wildcats came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 15-14 W against the Grey Ghosts. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Wildcats, who until this match were averaging 2.44 runs allowed.

Weston got a massive performance out of Ben Meade, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Meade also snagged a stolen base, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryuji Nawa, who went 4-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Weston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Weston's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Westford Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
