A well-balanced attack led Maxwell over Des Moines in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. The Maxwell Bears took down the Des Moines Demons 62-48. For the Bears, this counts as revenge for the 71-37 win the Demons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Several Demons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Destry Sumpter, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Sumpter has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kahler Osborn, who earned nine points.

The victory made it two in a row for Maxwell and bumps their season record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Des Moines, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Maxwell has already played their next contest, a 68-55 win against Springer on the 6th. As for Des Moines, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-66 loss against Cimarron on the 6th.
